THE STORY OF VRINDAAM

Physical, Mental and Spiritual Wellness

OUR STORY

Committed to re-introducing the Ancient Himalayan Remedies

We are based in Dehradun capital of Uttarakhand located in the Doon Valley on the foothills of the Himalayas nestled between Song River, a tributary of Ganga on the east and the Asan River, a tributary of Yamuna on the west.

Uttarakhand is known as abode of Gods, where the sky bows down to touch Himalayas. The terrain is flush with mystical flora and fauna, snow-fed rivers, elephants, leopards, magnificent mountain peaks, unharnessed energy and spiritualism.

CONCEPT

We believe in Complete harmony of Body, Mind & Soul

Health is a state of complete harmony of the body, mind and soul. When one is free from physical disabilities and mental distractions, the gates of the soul open.

– B.K.S. Iyengar

Thousands of years before the advent of modern medicine, Ayurveda taught humans that everything in nature is interconnected and interdependent and that human beings, blessed with a sound body, mind, and soul, are inseparable from the natural world, are an integral part of the living, intelligent, and self-regulatory entirety.

The natural elements of Mother Earth, specifically pristine essential oil, helps resolve many of the health and life style challenges we face, such as insomnia, headache, body pain, cold, stress, fatigue, depression, anxiety and low immunity.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Women Empowerment

We empower women in the workplace, and allow them to have more control over their careers. By investing in training, mentoring, equality programs, education grants, and promotion into senior-level positions, we ensure their career growth.

We ensure that high achieving women in our workplace are recognised equitably in our succession planning. We have active, ongoing conversations about advancement opportunities and set career goals during quarterly reviews.

We encourage women to pursue opportunities at every level of the corporate ladder. We endeavour to open up their talent pipeline equally to all employees. By promoting women as much as men, we show they are valued, and they are invested in growing their skills and potential.

Honouring Heritage

Once the main route from Dehradun to Mussoorie, the Kipling trail is now an exciting trek far removed from the traffic and overcrowding that marks the new Mussoorie road.

This is a 9 km trail starting from the Shahanshahi Ashram and going all the way to Mussoorie through Jharipani and Barlowgunj villages.

The trail follows a winding serpentine path with the Himalayan foothills on one side and spectacular views of the Dehradun valley on the other side.

The path first takes one through a steep jungle trail followed by small villages exhibiting remnants of the colonial era. The path thus appeals to nature-lovers as well as those interested in history and heritage.

The trail has been named after the celebrated writer Rudyard Kipling who had walked this trail in the 1880s and been inspired by the beauty of the Himalayan foothills. He set his walking experience in the famous novel ‘Kim’. Also known as the Bridle Path, this trail has often been described by Ruskin Bond in his books.

The trail is steep with a 30-35 degree incline all the way to the top. Although the incline is steep along almost the entire 9 km route, it is not a cause for concern and can be negotiated by keeping a slow and steady.

Clean & Green

clean

With increasing popularity of the trek, more and more people are trekking here, which unfortunately is giving way to lot of dumping of single use plastic, in form of cold drink bottles, cans, disposables, which is not only dirtying the trek, but, also clogging the forests.

An NGO – Clean & Green, operating from Old Rajpur Village is trying to keep the area clean, via a group of volunteers picking up trash twice a day. NGO also does extensive planting in the forests, to regain lost trees.

Vrindaam has partnered with the NGO and assists them in multi ways, by providing Rag Pickers, Garbage Bags, Shoes to the Volunteers and Trees for planting.
